Beyond Limits Care Foundation provides free equine and sensory therapy for children with special needs in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Our programs are designed in partnership with certified therapeutic providers and are offered at absolutely no cost to families.
We believe that every child — regardless of diagnosis, ability, or financial situation — deserves access to the transformative power of animal-assisted therapy. Our programs address physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development through carefully structured sessions led by trained professionals.
Equine-assisted therapy uses the movement, warmth, and responsiveness of horses to promote physical and emotional healing in children. Research consistently shows that therapeutic riding and horse-related activities benefit children with autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, ADHD, sensory processing disorders, and other developmental and physical conditions.
The rhythmic movement of the horse strengthens core muscles, improves balance, and builds coordination — benefits that carry over into everyday mobility and motor skills.
Working with horses requires calm, focus, and patience. Children learn to manage anxiety, build confidence, and develop healthy coping strategies in a supportive environment.
Following multi-step instructions during sessions — grooming, guiding, and riding — strengthens memory, attention span, and problem-solving abilities.
Group sessions provide opportunities for peer interaction, turn-taking, communication practice, and building friendships in a low-pressure, natural setting.
Our equine therapy sessions are structured to meet each child where they are. Activities may include therapeutic riding, horse grooming, feeding, and guided ground-based exercises — all under the supervision of trained staff.
Our programs are delivered in partnership with The Village Farm in Langhorne, Pennsylvania — a therapeutic farm setting designed specifically for children with special needs. The Village Farm provides a safe, welcoming environment where children connect with animals and nature.
An enclosed, climate-controlled area where children interact with goats, sheep, bunnies, and ducks. These hands-on sensory experiences help children develop comfort with touch, texture, and animal behavior.
Children participate in grooming, feeding, and guided equine connection activities. Every session is supervised by certified staff who understand the unique needs of each child.
Groups are capped at three students per teacher to ensure every child receives focused, individualized attention throughout each visit.
The farm environment is intentionally designed to be calming and accessible — with quiet spaces, predictable routines, and staff trained in sensory-aware practices.

"We are proud to partner with Beyond Limits Care Foundation to bring free equine and animal therapy to children with special needs. Their dedication to removing financial barriers ensures that every child in our community can experience the healing power of the farm environment."
Sensory therapy helps children who have difficulty processing information from their senses — sight, sound, touch, taste, smell, balance, and body awareness. Many children with autism, ADHD, and sensory processing disorder experience sensory overload or under-responsiveness that affects their ability to learn, play, and interact with others.
Our sensory therapy activities are integrated throughout the farm experience. Children engage with different textures (animal fur, hay, sand), sounds (farm animals, nature), and movement activities (walking, riding, carrying supplies) that help their nervous systems learn to process sensory input more effectively.
Over time, these experiences help children become more comfortable in their own bodies, more adaptable to new environments, and more confident in social situations.
Our programs are designed for children and young adults with special needs, including but not limited to:
Equine therapy helps children with ASD build social skills, regulate emotions, and process sensory input in a structured yet natural environment.
The horse's rhythmic movement mimics human walking patterns, strengthening muscles and improving balance for children with motor challenges.
Therapeutic riding builds muscle tone, coordination, and confidence while the bond with animals fosters communication and emotional growth.
Working with horses requires focus and patience. Children with ADHD, anxiety, developmental delays, and other conditions benefit from the structured calm of the farm environment.
